In a restaurant, light is essential: in addition to its functional purpose, it contributes greatly to the atmosphere of the space. In this article, we present the Design Radar solutions used in the newest restaurant in northern Bucharest, " BOSCO - Gourmet Nest" , designed by the team of architect Victor Grosu .
RESTAURANT ARCHITECTURAL LIGHTING
The entire BOSCO - Gourmet Nest restaurant is designed with a color temperature of 2700K, to create a warm and comfortable environment.
"It is the first HoReCa space we have made 100% with 2700K lights . In an interior, it is essential that all sources have the same color temperature. In addition, all the chosen fixtures have low UGR , the light does not blind you and is comfortable", explains Pavel Căruntu, CEO of Design Radar and the lighting project coordinator.
The lighting plan was thought out from the beginning of the project, nothing was left to chance. It is the correct way to work for any lighting project and we always recommend our clients to consider lighting solutions from the beginning.
For ambient lighting , we used LED strip profiles placed around the perimeter of the ceiling. Also on the ceiling, 48V rails with adjustable-angle spotlights add extra light. The LED strip profiles, with recessed diffusers, were also mounted vertically on the wooden posts. They are aesthetic even when the light is off and look like minimalist black strips.
For the task lights , Shot Light S Trimless recessed spotlights from Arkos were used. They generate a perfectly defined beam of light, calculated to precisely illuminate the table tops, as can be seen in the images above. They are easy to install, and the hidden frame makes them extremely minimalist.
As accent lights , Arkoslight's Black Foster Micro Surface 5 spotlights, applied to the ceiling, illuminate the natural wooden shutters. They are also an almost imperceptible presence and provide precise light. The "Invisible Black" effect, which we often talk about, is patented by Arkoslight: it hides the light source and brings high visual comfort. Arkoslight fixtures have MacAdam 2 certification, a coefficient that guarantees uniformity of light.
Also as accent lights, Arkoslight's Skip outdoor directional spotlights were used, which highlight the natural olive trees.
"Thanks to the Design Radar team and their maximum involvement, I can say that this restaurant has proper, state-of-the-art lighting. Behind it, there are hundreds of hours of discussions, debates, and struggles," said Victor Grosu.
For added atmosphere , the portable TeTaTeT Flûte lamps by Davide Groppi were used for the tables. This product is very suitable in restaurants, because it has a magnetic base, which can be hidden under the tablecloth, so that the body seems to float. When the other lights are turned off and only the lamps remain, the atmosphere is intimate and special.
In bathrooms, recessed spotlights and profiles with very narrow, 4 mm LED strip create comfortable light.
A type of light that is unfortunately rarely used, but extremely useful, is the "service light": the Shot Light Big recessed spotlights, with a diameter of 13 cm and a luminous flux of 3000 lm, turn on when the space is being cleaned.
SHADOW GAP DOORS & PROFILES
For the steps and walls, Design Radar's Shadow Gap concealed skirting boards were used, with LED strip recessed into the step area to serve as a guiding light. These profiles delimit the floor wall in a minimalist and discreet way.
For the doors in the toilet area, models from our supplier Albed - doors made in Italy were chosen. The Next pivoting door, with opening in both directions, was the ideal choice for the entrance to this area. It was finished with the same decorative used for the walls and painted with plant elements and birds. For the sanitary groups, the filomuro doors, also covered with decorative texture, create a minimalist environment.
